About the hospital
This website is dedicated to the appreciation of the abandoned Kempton Park Hospital, the related tales and the simple fascination with this hospital located in Gauteng, South Africa.
For those of you that know of this place, I am sure you have heard many bone-chilling stories of this dark abandoned hospital on the hill in Kempton Park. Closed down on the 26th of December 1996 with all its services being curtailed, this former-sickbay has become more than somewhat of an urban legend and folklore among locals; fascinating and capturing the minds and imaginations of the many curious residents and folk in the surrounding areas of Kempton and even far beyond.
Surrounded by a jungle of tall, waist-height grass, shrouded in utter darkness at night and demarcated only by a rusty mesh-fence; this dilapidated building is nightmarish in every sense of the word and ultra-creepy in appearance. The terrifying stories of ventures into this abandoned hospital are both hair-raising and adrenaline inducing; with accounts of spectral encounters with the paranormal and sightings of unknown beings which include ghosts, spirits, poltergeists and many more eerie entities.
